In this DIY guide, we’ll show you how to build your own wooden serving tray from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n

1. Gather Materials<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Before you get started, you’ll need to gather your materials. For this project, you’ll need a scrap piece of plywood, a piece of 1×6 wood, and some clearance wood. A complete list of equipment and materials used can be found below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Cut the Plywood to Size<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
To start, cut the plywood to the correct size for your tray. In this example, we’re making a tray that is 12″ x 18″. Be sure to measure your space carefully so that your tray fits perfectly.<\/p>\n\n\n

3. Cut the Sides<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Next, cut the sides of your tray. Rough cut the lengths of your sides first to make it easier to rip them to the correct width. For this project, we want the sides to be no more than 2 1\/2″ tall. After rough cutting, run the sides through a table saw to rip them down to 1 1\/2″ wide. You should end up with four boards, two at 18″ and two at 12″.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
